An evening presentation was held recently of equipment used in the Minor Surgery Suite and purchased using funding from Stroud Hospitals League of Friends.
The official presentation was made by League of Friends’ President, Dr Roy Lamb to Dr Tom Millard, Consultant Dermatologist and included a wall mounted operating lamp, multipurpose clinical plinth, clinical electronic chair as well as a Tonometer and Pachymeter which are used in the eye clinic here at the hospital.
This Minor Surgery Suite is now a very valuable addition to the hospital facilities and the equipment which has been presented will make a great difference to patients’ care and treatment.
Dr Lamb said: ‘The League of Friends are delighted to be able to provide this new Minor Surgery Suite with the latest equipment to enable the best possible treatment for patients here at Stroud General Hospital. The loyal support of the people of our community makes these donations of equipment possible and we greatly value and appreciate their generosity which allows us to enhance the services at Stroud Hospitals.’
The waiting area at Bowbridge has also been revamped with new artwork on the walls provided by students from Stroud College and a children’s area stocked with toys funded by the League of Friends.
