Wilko in Stroud have very kindly donated 60 mugs for the Refreshment Shop here at Stroud General Hospital and they have been officially presented by Daren Holmes, Manager of Wilko’s Stroud Store.
Wilko, formerly Wilkinsons, previously donated a supply of mugs in 2013. This stock has, however, dwindled and the new replacement stoneware mugs are very much appreciated.
There is a large group of volunteers who run the Refreshment Shop at Stroud General Hospital, giving staff, visitors and people waiting to be seen as Outpatients or in the Minor Injuries Unit a nice hot drink and perhaps a sandwich, salad, fruit pot, biscuit or snack. Any profits from the shop are used towards funding services and equipment for staff and patients and an amount of £7,500 was given to the League of Friends from sales at the shop during 2016.
