A very jolly and sociable Christmas coffee morning was held at Stroud General Hospital for all the hospital volunteers who are involved in working on the wards, the trolley service and refreshment shop, on reception and as volunteers on the Hospital Chaplaincy Team.
Mr Graham Russell, Non Executive Director of Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust attended along with Dr Gordon Horner, Chairman of Stroud Hospitals League of Friends and Richard Hobbs, NHS Volunteer Co-ordinator. A woollen quilt, handmade by volunteer, Monica McRiner, was auctioned and raised £74 for the League of Friends and a prize for the best, festive outfit was won by Pam Hurlston in a very fetching Christmas elf outfit (see photo).
Sue Russell, NHS Volunteer Supervisor thanked all the volunteers for their very hard and dedicated work throughout the year and everyone agreed that the work of the volunteers makes a great deal of difference in supporting both staff and patients at this community hospital.
