Committee Members of the League of Friends recently unanimously agreed to offer Graham Furley BEM Honorary Life Membership of the Friends. The presentation occasion was held at Scarlet House, Ebley and the framed certificate was awarded to Graham by our President, Dr Roy Lamb and our Chairman, David Miller MBE.
David Miller explained that Graham has given loyal, dedicated and friendly support to the Friends of the Stroud Hospitals for over 40 years as the Stroud Rotary Club representative. He has always been the most practical man, and has always been willing to help with a multitude of projects including the provision and decoration of the Christmas trees at Stroud General Hospital and Stroud Maternity Hospital.
As a Trustee, General Committee and Events Committee member his contribution to the work of the League has been both tireless and outstanding, and extremely beneficial to the people of our community. It is very fitting that he should be made an Honorary Life Member of the Friends.
