St Laurence Church held its eleventh Community Christmas Tree Festival recently and Stroud Hospitals League of Friends has now exhibited a tree for the last four years.
Ladies from our Events Committee – Jill Turk, Diane Whetter, Hilary Turk and Carol Parker all have put a great deal of work into the finished Christmas tree, which looked very festive. The tree was decorated with old photographs and images of nurses including Florence Nightingale and Edith Cavell as well as baubles and labels which highlighted the range of services available at our local community hospital and to encourage people to ask for their treatment to be at Stroud General Hospital.
There were over 130 decorated Christmas Trees filling the Church and a visit provides a very enjoyable and cheery start to the Christmas festivities. If you didn’t manage to go this year, then make a note in your diary for next year – the festival is from Sunday 27 November until Sunday 4 December 2016.
