Musicians from Frampton-on-Severn Silver Band visited Stroud Hospitals on Sunday 20 December and provided the Christmas music to accompany the Hospital League of Friends’ members and hospital staff to spread good cheer singing carols to patients and staff on duty.  It was a very festive and enjoyable occasion with young and old and the children helped hand out a Christmas gift to patients on Jubilee and Cashes Green Wards.

At Stroud Maternity Hospital two new babies and their parents were entertained with carols and a rousing chorus of ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’.

We are very pleased to report that, this year, there were two ‘Christmas Day’ babies born.  The babies are both girls; one was born in Stroud Maternity Hospital and one was a home birth attended by Stroud locality Community Midwives who are also based at Stroud Maternity Hospital.   The League of Friends traditionally present a silver spoon to any babies born at the Hospital or at home in the area on Christmas Day and our President, Dr Roy Lamb, visited the hospital on Boxing Day to distribute these spoons.
